The Coming Home Center designed this three-day retreat near Deventer as a protected space for the LGBTQIA+ community: being surrounded by people who may carry similar themes and experiences often makes it easier to open up. The programme features two ayahuasca ceremonies on consecutive evenings, complemented by a rapé ceremony and a connected-breathing session. Facilitators Sanne and Bertrand describe themselves not as shamans but as experienced space-holders.
The venue is a private estate with a hexagonal ceremony hall with underfloor heating and a fireplace, a wild garden, a natural swimming pond and forest right next door. Guests stay in shared rooms for two to four people in the main house. Before the retreat there is a thorough intake with a questionnaire and video call, followed by an aftercare call – additional integration sessions can be booked on request. The kitchen is vegetarian, with vegan requests happily accommodated.
